Super Native Unlimited

Mark is an Intercultural Leadership specialist from Southeast Queensland and Northeast NSW regions. Mark is from the Birrah, Gamilaroi and Bundjalung peoples with connections to Tanna Island (Vanuatu) and Scotland. Mark brings decades of wisdom from his career in leadership development, diversity and inclusion, and community education across the corporate, NGO, community, government and faith sectors. 

He has advised organisations such as National Australia Bank, Australian Football League (AFL) Indigenous Development programs and the Indigenous All Stars, Medibank, Australia Post and Foundation for Young Australians. Mark was also the CEO of the Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre and a senior leader at Office of the Registrar of Aboriginal Corporations.

During 2016 Mark was Joint Campaign Director for Recognise, an early public educationcampaign for a National Referendum to amend the Australian Constitution. Mark developed educational foundations for Australians Together workshops and presentations while in his role as Strategic Business Manager and key presenter.

Practice Lead

Deep Collaboration, Collaboration for Impact

Mark is currently the Deep Collaboration Practice Lead for Collaboration for Impact and a member of the Leadership Team providing direction and practice development on peace building, healing, and equitable democracy initiatives for First Nations and other multi-cultural Australians. Mark is also a leadership and cultural facilitator for 5 Stones Leadership, an Indigenous Community and Christian Leadership program that is a legacy project of his parents, Reverend Graham and Iris Paulson.

In 2024 Mark joins the AIATSIS Council as a Ministerial appointment. Mark is also one of six Pou, an Indigenous Intellectual Leader and Knowledge Holder, for the Atlantic Fellows for Social Equity Program with the University of Melbourne and a key facilitator in the Social Impact Leadership Australia (SILA) program. Mark was the Custodianship Program 2021 Core facilitator for Creative Australia, formerly the Australia Council for the Arts. 

Mark is the creator of the Intercultural Framework, an Indigenous framework for navigating cultural understanding and interfacing with others. He also designed the Aboriginal Love Heart design used in our merchandise and inspired by Thomas Harold’s flag design.

In August 2024, Mark was awarded a Paul Ramsay Foundation Fellowship. This Fellowship will allow Mark to develop his Three Leadership Gardens project where he explores leadership collaboration across racial divides and brings conversations to the middle space.

Our Why

Super Native Unlimited was created to celebrate the dynamic culture of our First Nations and South Pacific Island communities. 

The goal is to cultivate new relationships founded on generations of creative problem solving, reciprocity and care for land, water and people.

We are all ancient people, and when we know this, we can come together with empathy to listen and work with difference for radical transformation.
